About

Augustella Fatima Fernanda Makiese — International technician, Diaspora researcher, and Student at Swarthmore College, where I study Political Science, Peace & Conflict Studies, and Psychology as a B.A. Candidate.

My academic and global experiences have fueled my dedication to a career in international relations, sustainable development, and peacebuilding, with a strong emphasis on cross-cultural engagement, multilingualism, and multilateralism cooperation. Growing up in Switzerland, Portugal, Congo, and Angola has shaped my passion for connecting international institutions with local narratives and cultures of resistance, particularly those of indigenous and communal voices.

I am actively seeking interdisciplinary opportunities at the intersection of international relations, law, society, and innovation intending to pursue a JD-PhD in International Development and Global Political Economy while focusing on hammering a culture of legal and diplomatic cooperation between the Global North and South.
